Its hard to share strategic plan examples because there is often sensitive, confidential information included inĀ each document.

When I work on strategic plans and content strategies, I focus on research, communication, opportunities for innovation, collaboration, as well as celebration when milestones are reached – both in planning and delivery phases.

Components, I like to see in a strategic plan include the following (they don’t always go in a linear order):

  • Understand the Customer Journey (how/does this program fit what the customer needs)
  • Identify Competitive Advantages
  • Develop Objectives/Goals
  • Create Positioning Statements/Branding Messages
  • Refine Outreach/Content Strategies
  • Role Out Program/Tactics
  • Review/Evaluate Report
  • Repeat
